About this Talk
For over a year, the Global Initiative has conducted a comparative study of criminal governance in urban areas during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study has followed how gangs have set rules and influenced the provision of security in urban areas in cities of Africa and Latin America.
This event will summarise the main findings and present a short video containing interviews with former gang members, civil society leaders and experts.
The project was conducted by a GI-TOC team with support from GIZ.
