About this speaker

Kady Seguin is Policy and Research Director at IMPACT. In this role, she leads and ensures IMPACT’s research activities and policy engagement contribute to the organization’s mission. This includes leading IMPACT’s research process from conceptual stage through to publication and dissemination, as well as being responsible for representing IMPACT in a variety of national and international policy-related forums related to natural resource management.

Kady first joined IMPACT in 2009 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Windsor and master’s degree in Globalization and International Development from the University of Ottawa, where her thesis work focused on the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. She has worked with the Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Canada coalition and was involved in the successful campaign to secure legislation in Canada that requires the disclosure of payments made to governments by oil, gas and mining companies around the world. Kady has also led capacity building efforts that help civil society organizations understand and use the publicly disclosed information in their work.
