Willie Wilson

Ex- law enforcement and environmental agency senior manager with over 40 years’ experience in policing, environmental regulation and tackling international transnational waste and maritime pollution crime. Willie is current Vice Chair of INTERPOL’s Pollution Crime Working Group having retired from Scottish EPA (SEPA), where he helped direct their enforcement program. In particular he spearheaded their efforts to root out organized crime involvement in the waste industry using proactive intelligence gathering methods that he brought with him from his experience within the Scottish Police service. Willie is a named Visiting Scholar at the Environmental Law Institute(ELI) Washington DC and is a consultant with the International Network for Environmental Compliance and Enforcement (INECE) where he brings his practical experience as a regulator, criminal investigator and policy maker on international waste and pollution crime matters.
