Mr. Gilles Hosch is an independent fisheries expert with twenty-five years of professional experience. He has worked globally for the United Nations and other international institutions, bilateral development agencies, NGOs and fisheries development projects – mostly as a freelance technical expert. Gilles’ work primarily focuses on fisheries compliance and enforcement. He has implemented fisheries management and compliance-related field assignments in more than 60 countries, outputs including eight national plans of action to combat IUU fishing in Africa and Asia. Gilles is a co-developer and co-author of the Global IUU Fishing Risk Index.
