Angel (Lito) Averia currently serves as the President of the Philippine Computer Emergency Response Team (PH-CERT). He has a wide range of expertise, such as Information Security, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Planning, IT Project Management, Policy Development, Data Privacy Compliance. Lito has recently joined the GI-TOC Expert Network. He is a member of the Advisory Group of the Anti-cybercrime Group of the Philippine National Police, and Secure Connections, a coalition of cybersecurity experts. He participated in the drafting of the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act No. 8792 or the E-Commerce Act of 2000 and served as resource person with the Congressional Commission on Science, Technology, and Engineering (COMSTE) in drafting ICT related laws including the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10175), the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), and the Department of Information and Communications Technology Act of 2015 (Republic Act No. 10844).
